This project was a practice in translating an image into knit. I used different techniques on the Silver Reed knitting machine (ottoman stitch, picot holes, weaving in etc) to create different lines, shapes, and textures. I looked at Hudson River Paintings for the imagery, as well as the textures and unusual color schemes. I think there is a beauty in the very simple silhouette, which was limited by (my experience using) the knitting machines.
